Greenville EyeCare Associates, a provider of comprehensive eye healthcare services, is promoting Healthy Vision Month during all of May. Emphasis is being placed on why annual eye exams are important for all age groups and how patients can properly manage their vision health. Each year, the National Eye Health Education Program of the National Eye Institute (NEI) – an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services – sponsors Healthy Vision Month as a way to encourage eye health through the prevention of eye disease and eye protection. As a participant, Greenville EyeCare is supplying gifts to all of their patients receiving eye exams in May.
The annual eye exam helps detect problem areas early so that solutions can be prescribed to ensure vision issues are properly managed. This is also the time when prescriptions are carefully evaluated to determine if any adjustments or changes are required for eye glasses or contact lenses. At exam time, Greenville EyeCare is proactively informing patients to use safe guards to prevent injuries and to use UV eye protection during warm weather recreational activities.
